Over the glasses mountainbike goggle – Leatt Velocity 4.5

As a glasses user, you often have the problem to find a suitable goggle that fits over the glasses. In this article I would like to present my current goggle.

Leatt Velocity 4.5

In my case the frame of the Leatt Velocity 4.5 comes in a neon yellow color. The 50mm wide goggle strap sits thanks to a centrally positioned silicone strip slip-free on the helmet. Depending on the helmet circumference, the width can be adjusted. The special feature should probably be the replaceable lens. According to Leatt‘s own statement the double layered lens is bulletproof. I have not tested this by myself. My inserted lens is slightly darkened and lets 83% of light through. You can also use other Leatt glasses with different coatings. The field of view of the Velocity 4.5 is wide and distortion-free. The nipples on the front are intended for tear-off visors. The frame of the Leatt goggle is flexible and has several foam inserts to prevent fogging of the lens by circulating air. In the summer, this works very well. In cold temperatures, however, you should make sure to ride off quickly, otherwise it will fog up.

My glasses are 140mm wide and fit very well underneath. The goggle sits comfortably on the face thanks to the silicone frame. I‘am wearing the Leatt Velocity 4.5 now for over a year and am still pleased by using it. Sometimes, however, I clamp my glasses on the frame of the goggle and pull them also off by mistake. So glasses shouldn‘t be wider than mine. With a price of about 40€ I find the goggle reasonably priced. Other variants with different features are the models 5.5 and 6.5.
